Review policy

Our comparisons are built from documented specifications and listing analysis for mobile dual-screen work.

What we compare

  • USB-C Alt Mode compatibility and cable topology
  • Power behavior, including pass-through and host battery impact risk
  • Carry weight, stand rigidity, and table footprint
  • Seller-reported brightness, finish, and panel type trade-offs
  • Port orientation and adapter requirements (such as mini-HDMI)

Evidence limits (important)

AltMode Desk operates in specification-research mode. Seller and manufacturer claims may be incomplete, inconsistent, or optimistic. We treat them as reported claims unless confirmed by stronger documentation.

This means a listing that says “500 nits” or “single-cable” is not automatically a physically verified outcome for your device and environment.

Spec vs verification matrix

Usually document-verifiable

Port types, claimed weight, listed accessories, stated resolution, stated refresh rate.

Needs extra caution

Real brightness in sunlight, kickstand stability over time, exact battery drain on specific laptops.
